Professional Disciplinary Proceedings

The OPD investigates and prosecutes claims against professionals and has the authority to issue, suspend, and revoke a professional’s license. We also represent design professionals at hearings before the Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH), and the Department of Buildings (DOB).

Based on the range and severity of penalties that can be imposed by these entities, it is imperative that the licensed professional not delay once it receives notification of a complaint or notice of a hearing. GLPC is fully familiar with these proceedings and has on many occasions provided the appropriate advice necessary to protect the professional and prevent the professional from making statements at the interview and hearing against their interests. GLPC has also been successful in negotiating lesser penalties than the ones initially offered to the professional by these agencies.
